Goals for ABK clinic participants include learning to sail confidently and in all conditions, perfect tacks
and jibes, gain confidence in high wind sailing, carved jibes, jumping and other advanced techniques.
No matter age or experience, an ABK adventure will improve your ability and virtually every aspect of
windsurfing.
Clinics place a strong emphasis on instruction in a small group environment stressing the fundamentals of
windsurfing including sail trimming, tacking, jibing, speed, water starts, freestyle, racing and beyond.
Atypical clinic schedule begins on Monday morning when participants are divided into small groups according
to their ability level. Each group work session begins with a lecture, followed by on the water
demonstrations and/or on land simulator work, and then on water instruction.
At midday break for lunch. After lunch, the afternoon lectures begin. Lecture topics increase in
sophistication as the clinic progresses. The group continues to specialize and refine techniques to meet
each individual's needs.
After a full day on the water, it's time for video analysis where sailors can see themselves in action,
laugh, and most importantly, learn from their mistakes. The clinic runs for five days with Wednesday
afternoon off for sightseeing.
