Barbados - Windsurfing Conditions
Warm and sunny all year round with an average daytime temperature of 75 - 85°F. Prevailing northeast
trade winds keep it cool. Wind speeds of up to 35 knots create challenging wave heights between 5
and 15 ft. at Silver Sands, offering the best wave sailing in the Caribbean.
November - July is the season for Barbados and peak season runs from December - February and the
month of June.
Club Mistral Silver Sands is at the southern most tip of Barbados on a dream beach of fine white
sand edged by swaying palm trees and over looks the pounding surf of turquoise water. The wind blows
cross on-shore from the left. It is the ideal direction to tackle the white water of the reef only 200
yards offshore. The swell can be anywhere from 3ft. to logo height, perfect for spectacular jumps and
exciting wave riding.
Club Mistral Windsurfing Club at Maxwell is on a stretch of white sandy beach on Oistins Bay,
5 miles from Silver Sands. The prevailing wind direction is from the left cross off-shore. The sailing
area opens up into a mild swell with a few white water reef breaks which makes it a paradise for
advanced beginners and intermediate sailors.
